NEW YORK POST HONORS B-MAC

This article originally appeared in the Friday, April 3, 2009 print edition of the NEW YORK POST as written by long-time media critic Phil Mushnick...

"Fourteen months ago, things were going great for Bryan McGovern. At 32, the Jersey guy was in good health and had a popular show on Sirius NFL Radio.

Then he felt weak. Then weaker. And then he was nearly gone. He'd landed on a 1-in-100,000 space -- Guillian-Barre syndrome. It attacks the nervous system, then causing excruciating pain then eliminating one's ability to walk, speak and to breathe. Two weeks after thinking he had the flu, McGovern was paralyzed and on a ventilator. (B-Mac Correction: I did have the flu initially, which is sometimes a precursor to GBS. The actual cause of GBS is unknown)

And he remained that way for six months.

Since then, therapy and the love of family and friends -- both intensive treatments -- have returned movement, painful as it is, to his limbs. On crutches, McGovern's now up; his voice back, too. He's not going to get over it, so he's going to do better -- he's going to go right through it.

Tuesday (March 31) at 8 p.m. he returned to co-host, with ex-NFL QB Jim Miller, his first Sirius show in over a year. Bryan McGovern, ladies and gentlemen, Bryan McGovern!"

You deserve all that praise and more buddy. Welcome back. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the Burress situation. I also want to second having a chat room after late hits that would be sooooo cool. Make it happen, Goat!
